I hate to say "I told you so" but......
I was one of many to rue the leaving of TV for the Insects and said at the time
that he would come back and hurt us.Sure as eggs are eggs, he did just that!

TV did not come back & hurt us, we hurt ourselves & threw the game away.

If you "hate to say" something, then don't. If what you really mean is that you expressed an opinion that's now come good, then say so. Of course some would hate to say that it's taken a number of games before your opinion has been proved correct.
I love to tell people that TV is an excellent opportunist winger and he's now working very hard at looking for work too, so he's bound to be amongst the top try scorers in the Prem, and he used to play for Tigers too, you know.

TV only scored due to our errors, any winger worth their salt would of scored. I still wouldn't take him back.

well said HullFan, Tom is a very potent threat in space but we really dont play that way. Any half decent winger would have made those tries.

The Wasp supporters I spoke with yesterday were of the opinion that he is good in open spaces and one on one situations but is still very reluctant to put in any tackles. He still seems to favour garish boots !!
Sponsorship deals may come and go but the CRUMBIE stand will always remain.
Re: I hate to say "I told you so" but......
Defensively TV was no-where but Wasps play him to his strengths which is space and off-load as per yesterday. I too would not have him back owing to the style that the Tigers play which IMO will see them not do diddly-squat this season if they continue to play the way they do - injuries or not.Hull Fan wrote:TV only scored due to our errors, any winger worth their salt would of scored. He is long gone. It seems a long time ago that he left us.
Let it go.

Too right and if any further evidence of why we were right to get rid of him were needed then I'd ask the question "how many England caps has he won since he left Tigers?"
Exunctly.
Exunctly.
I saw Marika Vunibaka play

and he won't get anymore either while Ashton and Strettle are about - I hope?POSTIGER wrote:Too right and if any further evidence of why we were right to get rid of him were needed then I'd ask the question "how many England caps has he won since he left Tigers?"

Tigers have scored 10 Trys in 3 games. We now have Hamilton who, IMHO, is much better than Varndell and I was one of those who was a bit cross when Tigers lost him.
Re: I hate to say "I told you so" but......
It wasn't Varndell's tries that annoyed me so much as Haughton's.
Until he dotted down, at least we had the consolation that every try scored in the match had been scored by a Leicester Tigers academy product.

Re: I hate to say "I told you so" but......
That would certainly explain why he so rarely scored tries when he was at Tigers...hugh78 wrote:well said HullFan, Tom is a very potent threat in space but we really dont play that way. Any half decent winger would have made those tries.
Oh... hang on....
Re: I hate to say "I told you so" but......
Tom wears 14 for wasps yet was playing on the Left wing. Tuilagi wears 11 and plays on the left wing. says a little about an old welford road favourite! His defence (most peoples critisism) is still a concenr to wasps. I for one thought TV was a loss, but Hamilton was a bigger gain. TV often blundered opportunities like his second try (which he almost did) when juggling the ball but would score tries from nowhere like he did for us against Quins. I await his impact at welford road on a narrow pitch.
