Got a bit of the Mad Dog in him

Post by Darc Tiger »

Scotty that is!

Full of Moody's heart and drive today. One of the few bright lights today. Certainly didnt miss Moody on the kick chase!

Missing him at 7 is another matter... Give Pienaar at go at 7?

Is Everard up to it yet? I hear good things about him, but maybe too young still?

Would like to see either of them given a go against Leeds. Not saying Woods was diabolical but he wasn't great and would give a bit of competition to the shirt.

Whoever plays 7 is going to suffer comparisons to Lewis Moody, the problem is Woods is a pretty average player who's hands let him down regularly. Tigers need their back-row to start performing because at the moment apart from Croft they disappear when the going gets tough.

Likely the best candidate for 7 in the Tigers squad is T. Croft Esq.

And I was never convinced that Moody was a 7.

Difficult to fly off the tail of a line-out and harass the opposition 10 when you are also the main (only?) line-out option. Moody was not the classic 7, but did pretty well over the years.

In repsonse to the original post = I agree Scotty had a good (chase) game today - as did 36 whilst at centre.

On the Woods point - he does not seem on a par with most Prem 7s at the moment, Moodos or others ..... not sure Pienar is any better, but worth a change ..... worked today with Slater over Green.

Agreed on both points.

On the first depends who is chucking it in.
