Re: Ellis retires due to injury
Very sad news indeed, it has been a pleasure to watch you Harry and you are someone who I will always admire as a player and as an ambassador for the club off the pitch who was never too busy to stop for a chat or a picture. I know that you will be sorely missed by all Tigers fans, a true legend and I am thrilled that I was able to watch you from the stands during your sadly premature career, very very best of luck for whatever you decide to do in the future, I am sure that whatever it is you choose to do you will just as successful at it as you were on the pitch. Many thanks for all the fantastic on field and off field memories you have left us with!
From a personal note I am just very glad that he was able to achieve greatness in the game, winning the Heineken Cup, Guinness Premiership, and of course playing for England and the Lions before this devestating and tragic course of events took place.

Let it not be forgotten that the chain of events was precipitated by a foul and deliberate kick.Ben the Tiger wrote: playing for England and the Lions before this devestating and tragic course of events took place.
Still keeping the faith!

I can only all echo others comments about how sad the news is.
A true great who played at the top level and has won most of the honours going.
There was always a great sense of anticipation whenever Harry was on the field.
Best of luck, hope to see you at WR.

Re: Harry Ellis Retires
Harry Ellis could have been the best SH in the world. his injuries stopped him getting to that level therefore I stick by my commentsTom Tom wrote:I have to take issue with this rather stupid comment (IMHO)RobGale wrote:Saddest news I've heard for a while.
Thanks for the memories Harry. Never got the chance to be as good as he could have been (in my opinion)
It says on the announcement;
Harry made his senior international debut against South Africa in 2004 and appeared in every game of the Six Nations campaigns in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009, gaining 27 senior caps.
How much more of a chance could he have have been given
Judging from how many times he was picked for England he was the best and will be missed.

Re: Ellis retires due to injury
Just wondering whether it has been possible to pass on the later posts on this thread too? Or whether a card sent to the club would still be able to be passed on to Harry? Thanks.Tigerbeat wrote:All the posts so far have been collated and will be passed on to Harry.
Keep your posts coming.

What, even my slightly rude comment about his baby face?
Help - I'll have to keep away from home matches in the near future. Fortunately I don't think he knows where I live. Not even the right city......

Good luck Harry in what ever you do in the future , a fantastic player and a true gent x
Re: Ellis retires due to injury
I am so sorry that you have been forced to retire, due to injury, especially when you were reaching the peak of your game.Watching both England & the Tigers will not be the same now. Please try not to be lost to the sport, you still have alot of knowledge & experience to pass on to the younger players
