We've been down this unfortunate route before, and I don't know why.

So I will repeat. The cheerleaders at Nottingham Forest were young adult ladies (average age about 25) who's full time job was to work in Hooters, serving beer whilst wearing hotpants and rather revealing tops.

No more sinister that ladies watching the Chippendales or throwing their kecks at Tom Jones.

That's it. There's nothing bad going on.

We are not Americans and we don't need any help in cheering the players on. We are not a razzamatazz club. They would look out of place, like they were when Quins bought them over a few seasons ago...

I took a short video of the quins cheerleaders :smt026 near the gates at Twickenham when we played there December 2008 (the video is probably still on the link below)
Surprisingly more rugby fans watch this than they do of the rugby action or the photo's ! :smt017
The girls looked genuinely happy to be entertaining, the fans looked happy, the TV crew filmed them too.
No problem as long as it is tastefully done and it doesn't detract from the game.

If we were to get a song, why not get Rock Bottom/Slo Progress to release a cover of something such as Eye of the Tiger? The money goes to Matt and it gets played before the match?

If it ain't broke, why fix it? All I want to see is a game of rugby, The Cheer Leaders would get in the way.

RE : Music

Couple of friends of mine spent a couple of years waiting for a Tigers response to a number of songs they had sorted, recorded and sent in to the club.

After a fair while some supporters group had the songs on the agenda and didnt seem to realise the effort and expense that had been put in.

One song - studio recorded - "Fiji Boys" was superb - no result when sent to Seru or a number of Fiji based organisations.

The two guys concerned were willing to amend, alter, change, share......
They thought an album including their songs, maybe some Slo Progress, a bit of Rock Bottom would be a success for them and the Club.

However the response was not even lukewarm.

One problem is fairly obvious - If someone recorded Smoke on the Water - there would be large royalties to pay.

There are people out there having a go but I think they may well have been put off by the lack of interest or understanding of the processes involved.

Maybe the guys concerned would be able to ezpress this situation far better.

This was unasked for effort which sometimes pays off and sometimes is ignored: c'est la vie. The first tranche of posts here said quite definitely NO SONGS. This thread has drifted back to "well - perhaps". Others may choose to have songs, that is their culture but I prefer chants (simple), cheering and moaning as appropriate behaviour at WR.
