Best way to get to Twickenham?

I'll be in London for the BH weekend (nearest tube is Covent Garden) and I'll be going to the Final, needless to say! I'm just looking for advice from any 'seasoned Twickenham travellers' as to the best way to get from Covent Garden to the ground, i.e. is there only one way, or are there options?

tube to richmond as bus picks you up from their... to the ground

return the same way

Granted...but I think that opportunity has passed me by!

You can either:

Walk to Leicester Square and take the northern line to Waterloo and then one of many trains to Twickenham

or

Piccadilly line from Covent Garden to Green Park
Victoria line from Green Park to Vauxhall
Train from Vauxhall to Twickenham

Depends on how well you know London both above ground and underground- Covent Garden and Leicester Square are very close to each other but I know plenty of people who could get themselves lost!

or take the picadilly to west hounslow and then the bus from there direct to Twickenham...
