It's not the winning or losing but the taking apart which matters.

Re: Results from hearings
Just checked the RFU website nothing on Venter yet. Hopefully the longer the hearing, the greater the punishment.

Can't say I'm surprised or expected anything more - he apologised for what was an impulsive and daft action.bluntiger wrote:Confirmed on the RFU website.

I suspect Newby will get more than that for what was just as much of a non-incident
Re: Results from hearings
I often think that when these incidents go late into the night, they issue controvercial decisions late to 'hide' them and avoid the immediate media clare and much of the time with JJB it is because they take no action.

Re: Results from hearings
right decision
Re: Results from hearings
Shame! I'd got used to the idea of a two match suspension, apealled and reduced to one!
Lets see if Newby is another case of : "What club are you from?"
"Leicester Tigers."
"Guilty!! What did you do?"

Re: Results from hearings
details on Venter from Sky Sports:
Saracens director of rugby Brendan Venter will have to watch their Guinness Premiership final against Leicester from the Twickenham stands after receiving a 14-week touchline ban on Tuesday.
The South African was found guilty of making provocative gestures during Saracens' 32-23 victory over the Tigers at Welford Road on May 8.
However, a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel found Venter not guilty of pushing a female spectator.
Although he received a 10-week ban for the gestures, RFU disciplinary chief Judge Jeff Blackett also activated the four-week suspended penalty Venter was handed earlier in the season for criticising referees.
Although the ban lasts until August 24, in practice Venter will only miss the Grand Final on May 29.
A Saracens spokesman confirmed the club had already lodged an appeal against the suspension, which they hope will be heard before the final.
The club also said they were happy the charge of pushing a female spectator was dropped.

Re: Results from hearings
Effectively a one week ban!
For two incidents, pathetic.
