French Top 14 day 21

Post by Ze Stade Fan »

Today I am not in the mood to explain to this forum what happened in France last week-end. Stade Français lost again at home against Toulouse. A cruel loss : 29 to 0. Nil, nada, niente, zero. We are looking at the ghost of what was a great club only three seasons ago. To salvage the season ,there is still a quarter final of the H Cup to play - against Toulouse !- but everyone here thinks that it's a sure fire defeat. Urgent work is needed on the team to make it competitive again. In the meantime I'll support the Tigers from a distance.

My poor beloved club ! :smt010 :smt010 :smt010

I was at that match and the answer to that has to be NO! The pre-match entertainment wasn't up to Max's usual standards either!

However I missed your normal weekly sumarry of all the games so if you feel a bit better later maybe you could provide it for us.

I'm too willing to oblige.

Montpellier made a good operation by winning at home against Racing Métro 22-19.

Biarritz nearly made it at Toulon but were denied the win in the closing moments of the game 21-20

Aviron Bayonnais fought relegation and squashed Albi 46-13

Montauban lost against bourgoin and are now in the relegation zone 22-14

Castres confirmed the good form of the moment and walked over Brive 35-10

In the top clash of the day Clermont won at home against Perpignan 22-17.

As for Stade Français Toulouse you already know about it.

Hey ZSF - in view of recent events concerning certain SF players should you not consider changing your footnote? In my view it's in bad taste.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Keep up a positive attitude Remi. Still 7th, 25 points to play for and internationals due back in a week.

& note to some of the other posters - Unlike Stade, Tigers are top of the league and still the "we're doomed" brigade still continue to post!

Then I'll keep it. I'll stand for the right to gouge.

Actually no, as everyone else I view eye gouging as terrible but it is so much associated with the French that it is also a cultural element in our rugby. 70 weeks is over the top anyway... :smt009

Interesting that such a cowardly act is viewed as a cultural element in Rugby in France.

I think I'll ignore you from now on ZSF.

I was merely trying some irony, with no intent to shock anyone, sorry Barson.

You have encountered one of the more pessimistic members of the forum.

Think nothing of it.

Whilst one must always keep faith, Stade's result at Brive wasn't the best!
