I'd rather blowtourch my nipples off............
........ to quote Jezza the Great of Top Gear Land.
To quote the latest newsletter trying to flog tickets for Saturday:-
'Try the Guinness Power Pass and Rugby Reflex interactive games outside the stadium for your chance to win a goodie bag and enjoy Sky Sports commentary on the game with a free radio courtesy of competition sponsors Guinness.'
Why would a Tigers supporter want to sit and watch a live rugby match and listen to somebody constantly knocking their team whilst praising anything the opposition do?
Incidentally, is that a free radio with the goodie bag or a free radio anyway?
Also, how long before someone changes the thread title?

Ah, you wait until the vicar's wife sees it, then there'll be letters to the Daily Telegraph, mark my words. If it's good enough for Jezza it must be upsetting somebody somewhere.

I guess it'll be a reflink disposable radio thingy.
My missus likes a commentary so she knows who's got the ball over the other side of the pitch when you can see faces or numbers.

Is the implication that Sky commentators always knock everything Leicester do whilst praising the opposition based on the jaded view that Stuart barnes hates Leicester?
If so it is tired, cliched & also outdated in my opinion.
In my recent experience I would actually say that barnes likes Leicester and, more often than mot, even appreciates some of our players!
Therefore, were you to bother to listen to his commentary you might find it reasonably complimentary. It will certainly be more complimentary of our play & players than the toss that gets churned out by Bleddyn on Radio Leicester when they do commentary on one of our fixtures.

So do I. It is alot more fun listening to them, rather than some boring monotone voice.Bill W (2) wrote:Actually I quite like Bleddyn and Steve's commentary!

Well they were free radios at Stains last Saturday but they only had one headphone. It had the sky feed from the tv - Harrison & an irish chap whose voice I didn't recognise.GS wrote: Incidentally, is that a free radio with the goodie bag or a free radio anyway?
I guess Barnes was at HQ so is likely to back this week though.

Re: I'd rather blowtourch my nipples off............
you don't need any of that all you need to do is read the forum..
we have constant knockers here... who rarely praise.. even whne we are doing well.. oh wait we are top of the premiership and only had 1 game this season where we didn't pick up any points... me thinks thats pretty good...
although i do think staunton had a dreadful game against stains and vesty wasn't too much better when he came on needs some game time does sam...
each to their own i suppose.

Thanks for the info on the radios. I'll stand by my initial comments on the biased nature of Sky commentaries - not singling out any one person you'll notice - as in general they can barely conceal their desire to see Tigers lose.
I've been tempted to listen to Bleddyn's commentary and have had RefLink in the past, both to pick up on decisions I've missed, but I prefer to soak up the atmosphere first hand.
Listen for the roar of a blowtorch on Saturday.
