It's all going (gone) wendyball-esque!!!
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
Re: Free the Stade Francais One!
Is this the start of a bigger problem, discussed before on these pages, manifesting itself?
It is clear that the Elite Player Agreement already ties MJ's hands on selection, denies clubs like ours the correct revenue for players lost to the squad, (by agreement with "all clubs", we are wrongly told), and is mostly unenforceable with French teams.
Time to start again, or to allow French clubs to stall any hope England have of creating a team worthy of inclusion in the WC? (Still a long way to go!)
Typical RFU frack up (one for the Battlestar Galactica fans there!).
The mods surely wouldn't dare take on Admiral Adama!

Re: Free the Stade Francais One!
The EPS agreement never covered French clubs, or any other clubs other then the Guinness Premiership. If players choose to play outside the GP they have to be responsible for getting a watertight agreement to be able to attend all England training sessions. It is no different to Castro playing for Tigers, Peel for Sale etc, they are covered by the IRB regulations that only require release 5 days before an international.
The distribution of EPS funds is a different, but important argument, and probably needs to be taken up with PRL.

Re: Free the Stade Francais One!
or to simply NOT play GP matches on International days, like football. Many people who aren't interested in sport at all wonder how it is clubs play matches on an Intl day. Football has stopped both Premier and Champ fixtures this week because of the Egypt friendly!!
Re: Free the Stade Francais One!
Playing the 6 nations over 5 consecutive weeks would probably solve these problems.
Re: Free the Stade Francais One!
where's Ze Stade Fan when we need his input?

Clearly Stade need to brief Ospreys lawyer.
His contract says he has to be released for matches and pre-competition training. Don't say he has to be released in the weekends off!!!

It ain't! Football has it sorted.WhitecapTiger wrote:It's all going (gone) wendyball-esque!!!
E.G. when the African Nations Cup took place, all required African players had to be released by their clubs, even if they were Chelsea, Real Madrid or whoever.
Football is a sport so proud that we sack a man as England captain because he had some nookie with an unmarried woman, and replace him, on moral grounds, with a bloke who beat up a disc jockey.
Rugby could never emulate such crass actions. Could it?
Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!

Never mind Haskell - pick Croft instead he's a far better player.
Re: Free the Stade Francais One!
Since when has Croft played for Stade Francais?

Here here. My input is that i don't have a clue. It's Max' word against the RFU. I don't know what is inside this damned contract.CJ wrote:where's Ze Stade Fan when we need his input?
But if you suppose that the RFU is just a bunch of perverted englishmen who devise devilish plots against the French then, yes James Haskell should be freed.
Free our comrade !
