Anyone know what the laws say about this?

I think the laws say 31 men on the pitch is the maximum - 15 a side plus the ref.

What's the betting it will be a slap on the wrist and a "don't do it again"?

Shame it was just at a point where we had possibilities...

Should have been a penalty to us according to the rule book. But it wasnt given

Might not be the last we hear of this.

I hope it is the last we hear of it. We were well beaten by a better team, the 16 man incident hardly changed that. Make a noise then shut up is my view.

Well said Phil B

Some decisions you get some you don't, make the point, let the powers that be "deal" with it however they see fit then move on.

Though I do agree that Tigers should be more vociferous when it comes to challenging or citing, we sell ourselves short by not doing it, however decent or gentlemanly it makes us appear.

I think that it will get a mention in the Refs report and that Ospreys will get a slap on the wrist and a possible fine at the most.
A good hard fought contest, both defences holding out well under pressure, Tigers just missing the cutting edge in the backs today to score a decisive try.

Your right obviously the better team won on the day but...I can't help but think if it was us who had fielded sixteen men at once, we wouldn’t have got away with it! I'm sure Ospreys will be happy with a fine or a slapped wrist.

I don't think we're gonna make whoo-ah about it like the Welsh did for Carter's high tackle.
I am even wondering if Byrne was doing anything at all.
But surely, the way the substitution is worked these days, players are aware who is going on for him??
Not that I'm bitter, but it will be a very interesting case law.

Vinnie, the issue is that Alan Lewis was not told about the substitution. The teams have to hand a card to the fourth official saying who is coming off and who is going on.
The player went onto the pitch without the go ahead of the ref or 4th Official.

I suppose it's conceivable that the 'spreys would be docked a pool point (think that's happened for a similar incident in the GP) - doesn't make any difference to us, but might alter the best runner up situation.

Sky have just said that Peter Wheeler is leaving it in the hands of the ERC.
