ERC close to digging a big pit.

CNOSF await in wings.

Got to be less than Dupuis as its been on the go since december. Lets say 16 weeks. Reduced to 10 on appeal?

As I observed on the Dupuy thread HHJ JB and ERC are between the devil and the deep blue sea. Ferris says it was Attoub that did the damage not Dupuy - so Attoub must get a longer ban than Dupuy? A shorter one will give CNOSF an easy ride.

But then a longer one would be clearly outrageous given the precedents and allow CNOSF to conclude the French were being "picked on".

Sounds like a win win for Dupuy to me. And more discredit to ERC and IRB.

And still no sentence.

Who on earth is HHJ JB consulting with? IRB? CNOSF? SF?

He got 70 weeks!

Planning to appeal. Unsurprisingly.

I really hope any appeal fails.
Gouging is despicable and the tougher the penalty the better :smt027

Now people have some real fuel for ban inconsistencies! Its ridiculous with the minimal differences between Quinlans, Dupuys and and Attoubs offenses for example!

Just been having the same discussion with a friend

I haven't seen the Dupuy or Attoub offenses but the Burger and Quinlan offenses looked awful to me yet they got 12 weeks each (I think).

I struggle to imagine what Attoub did worse than them to get 16 months!

Gouging is a dispicable crime and should have a minimum of 6 months as the ban length but the IRB seem to make it up as they go along

French waste material will now hit the ait extraction device in spades (forgive mixed metaphors).

btw Dupuy got 40 weeks reduced to 24 for remorse and good behaviour and reduced to 23 on appeal.

It's such a shame, the powers that be are rightly making a stand against what is a real blight on the game and I think most fans will support their campaign.

However they shoot themselves in the foot by having no apparent guidelines in terms of the bans that they are handing out. Why is consistency always such an issue?

Doh! :smt017
I saw Marika Vunibaka play
