Leicester v Sale

Post by tigermad »

:smt006 :smt006

Leicester return to Guinness Premiership action this weekend with a tough game against Sale. A festive win would be nice to build on the win against Clermont last weekend.

I hope that Andrew (glass jaw) Sheridan turns up, could do with cheering up after spending xmas with the out-laws! :smt023

Here's to a thumping win and hopefully a team who have a plan B!

Johnne, Ben Kay, and Ben Piennar to start!
And on the 7th day, god rested, he stood patiently and awaited the green light to start the game from SKY!

If there is no penalty try given in the last minute against us then the assessor will mark the ref down :smt003 :smt003 :smt003 :smt027 :smt027 :smt030
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

What - an untried youngster who played really well in one game, instead of the one player who singlehandedly turned around Tigers fortune over the second half of the season last year. No way!

Be fair Pete he used both hands. But more importantly his head. And that is what is missing currently.

I'd like to see some competition for Jordan Crane at 8 where things are soooo predictable and JC isnt giving us what we know he can deliver....

Time to give Ben Piennar another run, or do we have to wait for Ben Woods to return (news on that?)???

Is Hipkiss injured then? If not he must play, he was awesome against Clermont and offers us some solid defence in the centre.

ok so move twelvetrees to 14 and allen to 12. or as pete has said play vesty at 12 but that would mean dropping allen.

At least we are struggling to pick positions now for the right reasons, and not down to the fact we have a team full of injuries. Personally my back line would be:
9. Youngs
10. Floody
11. Tuqiri
12. Allen
13. Hipkiss
14. Tuilagi
15. Hamilton
But you could easily argue this has been given the chance to fire but failed, but having watched the Clermont match on Tv as well as at Welford road now, i believe we should give it another chance because Floody seems to be getting them to gel. Vesty should be in the squad for the game and hopefully gain some game time.

My only change to this back line would be Vesty at 12. I think he may well read Flood's breaks and run some intelligent supporting lines. So keeping the move alive rather than Toby being penalised for holding on as no one has gone with him!
