Life can be unpredictable, so eat your pudding first!
Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
Priceless. Can someone send that to the Wasps website?

As this is Wimps all they will get is a slap on the wrist and told not to be such big babies in future.
PRL will bottle it and nothing will happen to Wimps.

Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
Readers may find the following extract from this morning's Daily Mail of interest.
"According to PRL regulation 4.4: ‘When a decision as to the fitness of the pitch is necessary, it shall be made by the referee following consultation with both teams.’
With that in mind, it would appear that Wasps will be fighting a losing battle in trying to explain their actions. However, IRB regulation 1.6 states that a team can refuse to play if it has ‘justifiable concerns over player safety’. That will form the thrust of the defence.
The threat of sanctions being imposed on Wasps is substantial, given the options available to Premier Rugby.
Their regulations say: ‘If PRL is of the view that a club has unjustifiably failed to fulfil its obligations, it may deduct league points and/or make an order for a fine to be imposed and/or award compensation and/or award the result of the match to the other club' "

Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!
Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
If only I could bring myself to read the Daily Mail website!!
Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
I think everyone has a gut feeling that Wasps will get away with a severe finger-wagging.
However, the authorities do need to make a ruling that the decision is taken by the ref or, if the pitch is looking dodgy days before hand, an appointed local ref who can drop by and pass on his observations.

Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
The Daily Mail are deeply troubled by a rugby game being abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.
What might this do to house prices?

Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
Don't know if anyone's said this yet, but most of the Pests fans posting on their Forum think it was a shallow and underhand way of wriggling out of a difficult fixture. http://messageboard.wasps.co.uk/viewtop ... a2f813f139
If they're saying it themselves, it must be true!

ST in new Clubhouse stand ... sadly, my back's no longer up to standing :-(
Re: Wasps in another pitch controversy
"Shallow" lol. If it was shallow then why were Wimps refusing to play? If it had been deep then I could have understood it.
