Serious Injury for army player

Post by Alwig »

I was wondering if anyone could update me on the status of the Army player that was carried off on a stretcher in the Army vs Academy game. Looked pretty serious but am hoping that they were just taking all the right precautions and that hes okay. It would be a horrible, horrible irony in a game for the charity helping injured soldiers if someone were to get seriously hurt.

We too have been wondering if the young lad is OK. It certainly looked like they were taking all precautions to minimize his injury. Lets hope things were not as bad has they seemed and he will make a full recovery. Our best wishes are with him.

I had a quick look at the Army rugby site and there is no match report or update there as yet.

I had a call back this morning from the manager of the Army Under 23s.

The lad who got injured is fine. He needed a couple of stitches, but there was no concussion and he will be playing again this Sunday.

He also said that the medical support at Welford Road was first class.

They very much appreciate everyone's concern.
