Viadana v Leicester

Post by tigermad »

:smt006 :smt006

Leicester travel to Viadana for more Heineken Cup action on the back of their cracking draw against Ospreys last weekend. It should be yet another cracking encounter and perhaps one or two players will be back from injury. Billy Twelvetrees must surely be given a place in the starting XV.

I'd like to see some others given a start to see what they can do, get them some game time and rest some key players.

So I'd like to see Duffey, maybe Harris?, Blaze (if fit), Parling, B. Deacon, Newby, B Youngs, 12t, Amorosino and Alex T (if fit) starting with a very strong bench just in case.

I'm assuming Vesty will still be crocked?

I have my doubts over whether Alex will be available.

Whilst it would be tempting to "rest" players, this is a must win game in the bigger picture.I'd go for a very strong team, with use of the bench to the full after the result is in the bag.

5 points is an absolute must in both games against Viadana due to the toughness of the group, so therefore i would play with as stronger team as possible with lots of changes once the 5 points are secure.

Drafting the odd rookie into a side with an already established pattern of play is a good way of seeing how they perform.

But put too many fresh faces into a side and we could end up with no pattern and no one knowing what anyone else is up to.

Also, games against Italian sides can turn into a bit of a rough-house (remembering Calvisano away not all that long ago), so we'll need a few older calmer heads in there in case it all kicks off. Hmmm. Do we have any?

Not only do we need 5 points but we must get as many tries as possible, they might be critical come the end of the group games.

Great mixed bag of results last night in the HC! - lots of decent teams now on 5 points from 2 games, 10 points from the Viadana games will stand us in good stead!

Usually it comes up on Justin.tv right before it's due on; I'll keep an eye out and post a link if it comes up (hopefully it will). Otherwise don't betting shops show games online if you have a bet on them or have I made that up?
