All Blacks predict World Cup financial loss

Post by seaweed »

Not the most encouraging of news for the tournament -

Snedden concedes the price of tickets, which will be announced in November, will shock many Kiwi fans, but he argued they were reflective of prices at the 2007 World Cup in France.

The average price for quarter-finals then was NZD 350 (£147), semi-finals NZD 600 (£252) and the final NZD 800 (£337).
To quote Ray Gravell - You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Owain Glyndŵr now he was a man of vision.

Thank God I've got free accommodation if I go? Still if there are not enough takers then the prices may fall?

I am amazed that for 'rugby-loving' SH countries, what we see on TV (Currie Cup, Super 14 etc.) the teams are playing in front of mostly empty stadiums!

I don't know whether the tickets are over-priced or there is just a lack of interest but it is often shocking how empty the stadiums are.

The 2011 WC should not have been staged in NZ. It should have been staged in Japan.

But the IRB voted for NZ who have neither the stadia nor the infrastructure to support it.

Why is the only revenue stream ticket sales and if it is why is this "new" news?

Yep, choking in the world cup again, and having to pay for the privilage.

That's gonna hurt!
