Was it today that Alan Quinlan's appeal was to be heard?

As we speak Bedfordtigger, Sky Sports showed him going into the hearing about 2 hours ago.

Thanks Bluntiger - we await the decision with bated breath! (After the usual pink gins and slap-up meal, no doubt)

If you look at the official Lions site he's not in the squad anymore, maybe they've already decided he's not going.

Can't understand the basis for the appeal! Is he challenging the verdict or the sentence?

There is so much evidence, the verdict is surely cast iron. The sentence was the minimum so surely cannot be reduced!

There is no basis to appeal on campassionate grounds is there?

The squad leaves for SA on Sunday so it has to be before that you would think.

I have not seen the basis of the appeal.

Certainly the verdict was one the panel were entitled to come to - so difficult to see a challenge there. More likely that they will argue insufficient weight was put on his good character and mitigating circumstances.

Hurray!
It really would have been a farse if that ban had been decreased or abolished looking at certain other cases that have got 8 weeks for some very dubious evidence :smt023
