Martin Johnson says he is looking forward to the 3 days of training this week, I presume that Tigers players are excused?

I would surely hope so.

Great news for Vesty, thoroughly deserved. Well done the rest of the lads as well.

Well done to all our lads well deserved............ BUT Steve Thompson :smt017

I thought the RFU had sent letters out to English players moving to France telling them that they may jeoperdise their England place if they played in France. A reason why James Haskell was trying to get out of his move to Stade Francais. But they pick bloomin Steve Thompson why can't they stick to the likes of Dylan hartley and blood them not bring back an old hasbeen who couldn't hit a barn door.

Seems the message from the RFU to some of those moving abroad is that there is one rule for one and a different rule for the others.

Is that a preemptive so the Lions don't steal Crofty and Mad DOG. Once again Tigers provide the core of England players.
Congrat to Tom May, you earned it :)
This is a very good squad, let's see what they can do.

Andy Goode is in the squad. Sorry but can't make out what you are trying to say.

If the RFU have warned the French bound English players that going abroad would harm their chances of playing for England then why have they been picked. Also they pick Goode( who as it happens I think should now not be in the squad) and Thompson who are now playing in France to me that is the RFU sending out mixed messages if they threaten it they should do it.

I think it comes down to player release and what they can negotiate.

Wilkinson has a clause written into his contract releasing him (if selected) for all England camps and matches. It will be interesting to see what the rest have, but I doubt very much they have the same bargaining power as Wilko.

At last a bit of recognition for players who drove their teams up the league, as opposed to some of those who achieved nowt.

What a contrast to the squads that were picked for the Autumn Internationals.

Thank god Cipriani has been kicked into touch.
