McGeechan set to leave Wasps for swansong at London Scottish

Post by fuzzy tiger »

It seems that McGeechan is to leave the insects after the Lions tour. With the article also stating that Ryan is about to be booted out of Gloucester in the next 48hrs it seems that there could be a bit of merry go round of head coaches this summer.

Who is the favourite for the Wasps and Gloucester positions both being big clubs?

I have it from good authority from someone inside the Glaws camp that Ryan has already gone (some time ago actually) to be replaced by some Welshman.

Corporal jones could be quite funny. Then again he could prove to do a good job for them. He isn't working anywhere at present is he?

Most of the season we have discussed whether Ryan will go from Gloucester and end up in Wycombe. Might this also see Mr Edwards becoming a permanent fixture with the Welsh national side?

The Glaws situation is nothing surprising, you can't be there for that long, get into the right position and then so spectacularly not deliver (or even compete)........oh & then blame everyone else.

As for Wasps, if (as suggested / reported) Geech is being pushed because they haven't won anything this year, then its all a bit too roundy ball for me.

We know they have financial issues, but surely their CEO (or whatever he is) can't think that a lack of a trophy will result in mass 'walking' by their fans.

They may be many things, but not that fickle?

Not shocked at either departure. Ryan's especially is overdue.

For me though this was a more telling point in the article
Having been so near and yet so far for the past five seasons, Gloucester have failed repeatedly on the big occasion. Several talented youngsters such as Anthony Allen, Ryan Lamb and Jack Adams have gone as has Olly Barkley, who is returning to Bath. Further departures are expected as Walkinshaw seeks to slice £700,000 from the wage bill of one of the biggest squads in the Premiership.

Oh yeah, me too, definitely. You won't get anything out of me... especially not something along the lines of "don't let the door hit you on the way out"... no way, not from me. :smt003 :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

According to the Mail looks like Ryan could be going to Wasps - apparently Glaws were approached a couple of months ago but refused permission as he was still in contract. If its true then thats two clubs down the tubes !! Bonus !! :smt023
Hambo :- He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”

I like Geech, I like London Scottish (top social club for those of us of the Sweaty persuasion). I don't much like Dean Ryan and I detest Wasps. Couldn't be falling out much better, really.

Dean Ryan and Shaun Edwards. What a happy light-hearted little pair of sunshine boys they'll make together.
