Have to agree no way was Newbys a yellow not even a penalty. Very bad ref performance. That is the one that changed the game as it strectched us.

Initially was of the opinion that Newby's yellow was a bad decision but Geordan's was fair enough. However, I have now watched both incidents again.
I'm afraid Geordan's is pretty clear cut, that was a deliberate knock on in a try scoring position and i'm sure he won't be complaining about the card.
Newby's is actually a lot harder to call than i originally thought, but i think that it may well have been a penalty, and the yellow was therefore fair.

I actually thought that Cardiff knocked on before Newby's error. If so the ball is in open play and Roland should have played the advantage to tigers or at least he should have gone back to the first offence.
Anyway who cares we won. I expect Roland was just trying to make a game of it.
