Is there anymore news about George Smith coming to us. I know it was rumored a while back.

nothing happened for a while to be honest regarding that. There were rumours of us signing an un-named austrailian AND an un-named back row player, whether or not the were the same person (and indeed if they were him or not) is still to be seen.

I read in the Telegraph today (in a story about Croft) that Martin Corry is 'out of contract' at the end of the season. The article went on to suggest that Sale are looking for an 8..............

Anything is possible I suppose! Speculation is certainly interesting, but nothing is certain until it's been confirmed by the club.

Im Just going to put something out there.....

Im currently a student at Newcastle University, and have just seen a guy who looked identical to Ben Pienaar in Jesmond Tesco. He was exactly the same build and height, was wearing tigers kit, and had a basket full of meat. I also got a funny look as I walked past in my Tigers managers Jacket.

Maybe we are trading him for Parling?

On the other hand, a lot of Newcastle Players are often hanging around Jesmond, so he could just be seeing a friend who is either a student or a rugby player.

According to this report in the Guardian, MC will announce his retirement next week.

Nothing official to confirm.

However, Leeds have confirmed that their current fly-half, Di Bernado, is leaving (another off to France, I think), and they are looking for a replacement.

btw, Leeds have also confirmed the both Tom Biggs and Vickerman are also leaving. According to the Yorkshire post, Newcastle are favourites to land Biggs, with interest from Tigers and Toulon.
