[quote="g"]Why don't all of us who feel this is an injustice write to the board of directors and explain to them how disgusted we all are with this decision and to let them know that we all now feel enough is enough and that we think that the club should appeal. If enough of us do it then they may just listen. Then again when have people in power ever listened to us mere mortals.quote]
I have sent emails to both Peters offering supprt for an Appeal and have referred them to this message board if they are looking for the strength of feeling from supporters.

Tuilagi 4 Week Ban
Tuilagi Banned for 4 weeks at,for us, a critical period of the season.
Azam's possible suspension comes at the end of Gloucester's season. So if he is suspended does his ban start right after judgment is passed or at the start of next season ?

The older I get the better I use to play.

Re: Tuilagi 4 Week Ban
Ridiculous in the context of a two week ban for Cueto's spear tackle.
Re: Tuilagi 4 Week Ban
If there's any justice in the world Azam should get 6 weeks - starting next season.
But then again, after the Glaws clearout in the Summer will he still be around to make them suffer his suspension (if indeed he gets anything at all - after all he's not from an East Midlands club!)?

Re: Any news on Alex's hearing?
How does the appeal process work and can Tuilagi play whilst the appeal is ongoing?
If so, it would seem to make sense to leave him out for the Bristol game this weekend, then appeal at the latest possible moment (is it within a week of the judgement being given?) - maybe next Thursday night? Then they could take 10 days to arrange the hearing again and we could maybe play him in the GP and HC semis.
Seems to be the best way of pointing out to all concerned that the whole process is a pathetic farce.
Also - I can't remember a single player being cited in the last 3 seasons for an offence committed in a game against Tigers, which gives the lie to the notion that it is an 'independent' process. It seems impossible that in the time we've had about 12 players cited that not a single opposition player has committed an offence worthy of citing - it just evidences that the process is about whining to the authorities after a bad result and trying to get opposition players banned.

Totally agree.Hot_Charlie wrote:Ridiculous in the context of a two week ban for Cueto's spear tackle.
Alex's tackle could be reasonably put down to him expecting the ball to go to Abendenon and hence taking him out should have been a straight yellow card only.
It's debateable that Abendenon wasn't braced for the tackle, he must surely, being in the firing line, have been expecting some contact from Alex.
Cueto's off-the-ball spear-tackle on the other hand was taking out a defender who clearly wasn't expecting to be pile-driven into the ground from behind.
So which is worse, an off-the-ball spear-tackle (2 weeks) or a pre-emptive tackle on someone (arguably being in a place to prevent Alex tackling the right man) (4 weeks).
Also, does the fact Tigers had already suspended him for last week's game count for nothing!!
Re: Any news on Alex's hearing? Yes - 4 week ban!
Getting beyond a joke. Really starting to beleive in conspiracy theories now.
Ellis 6 weeks Cueto 2 weeks. Julien cited Sheridan gets away scot free.
While we are on the subject of Bath recall the game at the Rec. on Sky, ball goes into touch Tom Croft follows ball out Butch James carries on through with shoulder charge tackle on Tom Croft in the back, isn't that tackling a man without the ball, what happened? no penalty, no card, no citing!
Furious!
Must appeal!

Re: Any news on Alex's hearing?
I seem to recall from the darkest recesses of my mind that once an appeal is lodged (within 72 hours of receiving written report from the Disciplinary Committee) player may play until the case is heard. I am fairly sure this is true for GP. Not 100% on HC.Jose wrote:How does the appeal process work and can Tuilagi play whilst the appeal is ongoing?
The rules on the ERC state
(iii) Independent Disciplinary Committee
a) Citings / Misconduct complaints will be heard by an independent Disciplinary Committee as soon as is practicable. Until the hearing a cited player is eligible to play in ERC tournaments.
It doesn't actually say what happens in the case of an appeal for ERC.

In the style of the awesome tackle on the OC against Stade two years ago:Tigerbob wrote:Totally agree.Hot_Charlie wrote:Ridiculous in the context of a two week ban for Cueto's spear tackle.

Talk about committing early!
Re: Any news on Alex's hearing? Yes - 4 week ban!
Can anyone explain to me the difference between Tuilagi's offence and Shanklin's off the ball hit on Morgan in the EDF final?
Tuilagi looked at Abendanon's running line and stepped in, leading with his shoulder to take him out off the ball.
Result? A 4-week ban (5 games missed, including the HC SF).
Shanklin looked at Morgan's running line and stepped across it, leading with his shoulder to take him out off the ball.
Result? A try to Cardiff to seal the win, no citing, no ban. Free to play in the HC SF.
Can anyone explain the difference between the two incidents?

Re: Any news on Alex's hearing? Yes - 4 week ban!
Yes, but did Cardiff voluntarily suspend Shanklin with a team suspension? - thus implying guilt!
Also, Cardiff didn't have Will Greenwood baying for him to be cited!

Simple - they are Welsh.Shanklin looked at Morgan's running line and stepped across it, leading with his shoulder to take him out off the ball.
