Well said.

There's plenty of opportunities to be miserable.

Let's be happy.

(I would inject a happy emoticon at this point, but whenever I try it, my message simply disappears. Do it more often, I hear you cry.)
Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!

I have to say I feel pretty much the same. Whilst there were still areas which need some work, I thought the level of ambition and some of the passing was excellent.

I was disappointed with the number of knock-ons (although some were at rucks - were they unnoticed Worcs hands in the ruck?), which gave away quite a few promising positions, and Ben Kay couldn't catch a cold in the loose but:

1. Matt Smith passed the ball a few times!(including the odd man and ball)
2. Our scrum half situation is looking pretty rosy. People should get off JD's back. He's quality IMO and he place kicked pretty well.
3. We put together some nice phases and scored some "attractive" tries.
4. Ayerza was superb again. Possibly more so ball in hand.
5. Hamilton is awesome.
6. Flood and Hougaard are going to struggle to unseat Vesty at this rate.

And probably some more positives. I know we started a bit ropey, but after the first penalty, I actually enjoyed the game. :smt041

Agreed!

It beats being pesamistic anyway....

Other postives?

1. Alex actually got a few runs and scored.
2. It was great to see Louis Deacon playing again.
3. The back row looked like a cohesive unit and just got on with their job.
4. The new stand looks awesome
5. Heineken Cup - still all to play for!

Much better today.

Vesty awsome
Hamilton amazing
Mauger good captain
Ben Kay - needs new/bigger gloves or some practice in the back yard
Dupey great too

Much quicker ball
Better angles
More cohesive
More decisive
Less kicking (although what there was, pens etc aside, was pretty awful).
Great to have so many players released and back playing.
Come on Tigers

Ben Kay does make life hard for himself though. Those orange mitts don't just make spotting the dropped passes a piece of cake, identifying him when guilty of indiscretions at the ruck must be a doddle for officials.

On the plus side, just looked at the table on red-button BBC thingy and 7 points between top 6 teams means the leagues still wide open for any of us. Also, 7 points between us and sarries gives a narrow buffer zone. Optimistic attitude in order.

Wen we play it simple and run on to the ball we get good forward momentum...that happened yesterday after 20 minutes and then we came alive....

We can progress from here as long as we maintain that simple philosophy...as a by I think Mauger was brilliant yesterday! Great play, led by example and worked the team well. He clearly loves captaincy...Well done

Sorry to spoil the celebrations . The 1st 25 mins were error strewn rubbish against one of the worst teams seen at Welford Road in years .Yes Vesty and hamilton did well , and Newby had his best game so far but it was all still pretty average stuff .Our handling is shockingly bad , particularly kay and Tuilagi, and until we learn how to hold on to the ball through more than a couple of phases of play we will struggle against the good teams . London Irish away and Glaws at Home will be a truer test ! .
P.S Ben Youngs should start - our only player with stand out flair !

True observation but I guess that is down to the fact that the Tigers haven't done it the past 2 years? Can you imagine how un-nerving it must be to keep receiving fast quick ball, off-loading - phase after phase - it must be quite a shock to do this in a game and not just on the training paddock. Hopefully, the LI and Glaws games will be another step up and smooth things out ready for the Bath game where on a wider paddock Bath will be really expansive and the Tigers will need to be right on song from the first whistle. It was a good performance yesterday on the back of the Wasps game and long may it continue.

I think we need to be realistic here. The Tigers beat what was mainly a Worcester second team. The proof of any renaissance will be in the London Irish pudding next week. But green shoots, yes.

Just what the Doctor ordered

We have not picked up enough BPs from Tries

But two games in a row, at least we are getting tries now.

With games in hand to LI and Glouc we could well get back into the top 4 mix again..
