Hartley should be cited

Post by Chobbsy »

Hartley hit off the ball on Dupuy who then had to go off.

Lets see if he gets cited

It was minimum yellow card and maybe red. Not seenby the officials so, yes, will indeed be a citing and very well deserved as it was pure thuggish play.

Typical play by a player who isn't good enough so makes his impact in the most ugly fashion.
Got dusted at every scrum so resorted to taking out our only attacking option.

Not sour grapes as we didn't deserve anything out of this game.

Should receive at least 12 weeks.

There is an argument for it being late, but not that bad I think. I wouldn't mind seeing it again, but first impressions were just a crunching tackle a little late.

I hate to refer to wendyball, but anyone remember the tackle on an Ar$enal player called Eduardo that broke his leg pretty badly? open fracture, horrible looking challenge at normal speed, and the ref thought the same - straight red, however in a slo-mo you can see that the tackler was going for the ball but Eduardo was just too quick for him and tapped it away. Dupuy slowed down and delayed his pass with the express purpose of drawing the tackle from Hartley to give the man on his shoulder a bit of space. He was expecting that tackle, though admittedly it was a hard one.

Basically, don't let the intensity of the moment cloud your judgement, ok? I will try and watch it again later and maybe some of you should as well - I could be wrong, but I am staying open-minded. :smt023

I disagree about him being a bad player, that is what makes it worse, he is an outstanding talent, there is no need to do what he does all the time.

Didn't see that one - it must have been while I was outside screaming off my frustration before returning to the screen for another fix of pain.

According to what I heard, the dynamic duo commentating referred to Hartley making a "late tackle" and saying about it being a very hard hit.

It's just the sort of villainy that used to get sorted in time honoured fashion.

12 weeks?

More like wait till the next maul (Oh! I'm sorry! We don't like mauls any more do we?) then a quick upper cut to the soft underbelly making sure the head contacts with a rising knee as he inspects his lusting tackle!

..............sorry! sorry! it's not that sort of game anymore!

Pity!

Poor play from a player who has a poor record with thuggery, in the good old days Deano would have lamped him, should be cited & banned which would be bad news for England, presume he will be as the Saints seem to have the same problem with the RFU as we do when it comes to bans.

i believe this entire thread is fuelled by sour grapes.

losing gracefully is as big a piece of sportsmanship as winning gracefully.

plus there were several instances of foul play by tigers which shall go unremarked by me for now.
