Real Austin Healey exposed in Strictly Come Dancing

Post by TTRITH »

From the telegraph today: http://tinyurl.com/5uehvk

Very intresting article about Oz, from one of his long-term mates.

I didn't know he was climbing Everest next year? :smt017

Great read, thanks for posting that. I liked the part with Austin having an argument with his wife; one dressed as a gorilla and the other a polar bear. :smt005

Everest - how on earth is he going to talk constantly in such a rarefied atmosphere?

Seriously though, he needs all Tiger and rugby supporters to vote for him every week. Great dancing ability is not enough. TV favourites get votes even when they can't dance!

I voted for him on Saturday. 09015 22 23 04

I usually refuse to watch such drivel and have the excuse of getting home halfway through the show from work, BUT I have watched it this year for the lip and have loved watching him.

Now I'm off to chop some wood and scratch a lot!!!

Interesting article, written by Will Greenwood. Didn't Oz and Will used to share a place together back when Will was playing for Tigers?

Found out an interesting fact about Austin today courtesy of Steve Walsh (the former Leicester City captain, not the kiwi referee!).

Walshy visited our school to talk to the year 10 lads about being a professional footballer and was asked if he still played. He told us that he plays 5-a-side every friday night and this, I kid you not, is his team

GK - Martin Johnson
CB - Steve Walsh
CB - Gerry Taggert (now LCFC's reserve team coach)
MC - Muzzy Izzet
CF - Austin Healy

Sub - Will Greenwood

Imagine turning up to 'Goals' (the 5-a-side centre in Leicester they play at every week) on a friday night to find your up against that lot!
I saw Marika Vunibaka play

Austin and Erin are on Strictly It Takes Two on BBC2 tonight at 6.30pm. There was a link asking for questions for either or both of them, so watch out if you hear Leicester Tigers mentioned!

Austin & Erin are on Strictly It Takes Two at 6.30 tonight onBBC2. They've been asking for questions to be sent in, so watch out for any mention of rugby or Tigers.

In my November Ski Club Mag, there's a little article "Strictly Come Skiing". Oz skied the Vallee Blanche, having not skied before, on his 10th day on skis.
"A record for the Collineige Challenge".
Are we surprised?
Is he looking to ski down Everest?
Not that he's competitive of course!
Top man.
I understand he and Will Greenwood did a lot of tackle practice in the house they shared, stairs were not an obstacle!

I am in awe of him for most he achieves but skiing the vallee blanche after 10 days if you are a decent sportsman is not too difficult. I don't think it is a very hard ski just very long and very dangerous without a guide.
