6 Nations XV
Just wondering what everybody's 6N team would be. The Welsh were very good, but I have no outstanding Irishmen (although I'm sure Geordan would have been had he not been discarded and then injured) but I think there were quite a few stand-out players in each position, so would be interesting to see what everyone thinks.
Mine is:
1:Sheridan
2:Mears
3:Castro
4:Gough
5:Borthwick
6:Strokosch
7:M Williams
8:Jones(C) (narrowly beats Parrise)
9:Blair
10:Hook
11:S Williams
12:Flood
13:Noon
14:Clerc
15:Bryne

parisse at 8 ahead of jones, imho. parisse was everywhere and pretty much carried his team.
jones had the luxury of quality around him. just for arguments sake i dont think jones could have done as well as parisse in parisses shoes.

Agree with that. We have a top quality pack, but outside the pack not much...Parisse has to carry the ball, and support backs in defence much more than Jones. Welsh backs are a level up above everyone, this year.boondock wrote:parisse at 8 ahead of jones, imho. parisse was everywhere and pretty much carried his team.

Also let me insert Bortolami at n. 4. I would like Mauro Bergamasco at n. 7, but i don't do it because of his bad temper. He's a superb player, but he really has to do something to calm him down, during a match.
Jones played well but Parisse was a class above everyone else imo.
I would have Henson at 12 as I thought he played well right when it mattered (with the exception of yesterday's high tackle indescretion)
The front row is up for grabs with the exception of Castro.

I'm fairly happy with that, couple of changes, places I'm not entirely convinced about.
