According to The Sun (I know not the fountain of all reliable knowledge) Danny Cipriani has been booted out of the squad for this Saturday's game due to a breach of rules following a night out in Mayfiar - if true, what options now - has to be Lewsey??

Replaced by Balshaw with Hodgson coming to the bench

Sounds bizarre. If true, what a burke.

Yet Ian Balshaw was allowed to play for three whole games despite his thoroughly inappropriate behaviour as an international full-back...

It's only cheating if you get caught.

I was out in London last night and didn't see him but then I haven't had a sex change so he wouldn't be interested...!
Absolute Pratt...! You'd think once bitten etc...
Conspiracy theorists would bet that Balshaw grassed him up..........
I'm the one in the Tigers shirt on the 22. You can't miss me...!

assuming the rules hads been explained very very clearly, then this is either "mind numbing stupid" by Cips or a "gross over-reaction" by bashton (man under pressure not knowing what to do)
Sad sad day either way ...

Let's hope his outstanding talent isn't swallowed up by off field antics. We'll put it down to the exuberance of youth, call him a silly boy and let him take his punishment saying no more about it.
You just know the papers are now going to label him as a wild child and a hell raiser.

you have to wonder what he did ?? and also wonder if it would have been better dealt with without the expulsion ?? As you say, the media coverage helps nobody but the media magnets pockets ..

BBC reports it had something to do with his leaving a nightclub last night after midnight.
Pure speculation but I wonder if he broke curfew? If so, what a silly boy.
I guess expulsion shows a tough hand from the management about stepping out of line. If only the entire team didn't have to be punished by having Balshaw back in the line.
Hodgson now on the bench, Lewsey's career really is well and truly over.

Pictures taken at 12:15 apparently, 15 minutes after midnight curfew.

I win! Or was it mentioned in the article and I missed it?
I reiterate though, what a silly boy. If curfew is midnight, be back by midnight.

Agreed .... image what state Balshaws head is in ?? the whole world (expect bashton) has slammed him for weeks. Then that first high ball comes down and the Scottish players and crowd smell blood !!! Forget ideas of chasing a high margin victory ... remember this is England vs Scotland !! We will do well to win.

The worry now is that on Saturday night there will be loads of Scots coming out of nightclubs late on re-creating the up and under which won them the game.
Pound to a penny it's gonna rain ice covered rugby balls in the England 22 on Saturday now.
The one hope is that the drug testers find Balshaw has been over doing the Horlicks.
