Attack on Brian O'Driscoll

Post by mrgrandslam »

I've been following these adverts on Sky. I can't believe they are allowed to be so personal. If the Irish rfu saw this...they'd be livid.

Very poor taste! Not even our colonial cousins from the penal colonies would sink as low as this level of sledging.

But I suppose if it entertains their little minds.......!

That is not just incredibyl poor and intersting it is sooo boring.

What is the point it will have probably motivated Ireland if they have seen it.

Sorry but I think that ad is great - the whole S4C campaign for the 6 Nations has been first class this year, especially compared the BBC Wales campaign.

Did no one see BoD in the world cup? The Welsh calling him a 'spent force' in an ad is fairly tame to what the irish were calling him. If we wanted to be low, we'd have mentioned RoG & his alleged problems but S4C could have got sued over that.

It has to be said that the English have never quite got the ads that the welsh broadcasters have run for rugby games. They tend to be tounge in cheek affairs, which possibly appeal more to the welsh sense of humour than the english. At least the welsh broadcasters promote the games which is more than BBC in England do.

Do the Welsh have a sense of humour?

Discuss in not more than 300 words!

This is the latest in a series of ads involving the bearded gentleman in a number of day to day situations where you would encounter announcements such as a railway station or in the case of this one an airport.

Inbetween the normal run of the mill announcements, like the train now approaching platform 1, the bloke on the tanoy comes out with a comment out Wales's upcoming oponents in the 6N, like Wilko's clapped out BoDs a spent force which make the bearded bloke have a mishap like walking into a lamp post. Which explain his battered appearance in this ad.

If you look on you tube all the ads are on there. They probably make more sense if you've seen all the ads. Hope that clears things up.

I don't see anything totally sinister in it at all.

Thanks for adding some sense to this it is only a joke. Not even very funny. Really can't understand the problem with it. People get wound up about the silliest things.
To quote Ray Gravell - You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.
