He was also lookinf to offload out of the tackle. We need to learn to do this like Toulouse so we have an all around game. He looks class I am excited and he will take the pressure of Goode. Goode will gain look good.

Fortunately their Kiwi was worse than ours....

I have a feeling it might be a few weeks before we see Aaron at his best, that's fine by me.

I'm astonished that he started after a week at the club. I'm glad he's got some game time in, but I'm not sure that Toulouse in the Heineken cup is a good time to help a new player out with his fitness, even if it is Mauger.

New country, new club, new team, bad weather and his first game. Mauger is a quality centre and he'll come good that's for sure.

He is a professional on £300K per year so he had better be ready. Having not played since the RWC it was going to be difficult but he has had a week so he has to show himself next week. If McAlister can do it then so should he - given the conditions.

To be fair, McAllister had the mighty Worcester as a start and Mauger gets one of the best teams in Europe...hardly a comparison.

Well, he's had almost 80 minutes to prove himself now and he's not produced the goods - send him back I say. Total waste of money :smt002

Posttiger............who? Mauger? It was only his first game. Give him a chance. He has not played any competitive rugby for at least 6-8 weeks

:smt002 - I was hoping this would make it obvious I was joking, obviously not! I think the whole debate is a bit daft to be honest and that's what I was trying to communicate!

Agreed. How you can judge him on 60 minutes of rugby is beyond me.

He's world class, he just needs time to gel and get match fit.
Blimey...

one missed tackle, one fluffed kick, one great offload

Not the greatest debut we've ever seen at Welford Road however as everyone says given the circumstance perhaps we could not have expected more.

Trouble is we have had such problems in the midfield we are looking for a Messiah - I think we may have to make do with a mere mortal - hopefully he will improve - he'd better
