Juan Martin Hernandez

Does anybody know whether or not JMH will be coming to Welford Road? There was a lot of speculation, but has he decided to stick with Stade or did we not put in a bid? Not too sure how the transfer system works in Rugby... Is there still a chance of signing him?

Apparently Stade wanted a transfer fee into the millions so the waiting game now begins as his contract is up this year but his wages may be a bit!

I think that our new coach will insist upon a more dynamic 10. I read - in Rugby NEws - that we R looking at Lamb of Gloucester. The problem is everyone knows we want a quality 10 and wages will be high.

Also, having failed to attract wilko & Hodgson it might be difficult. Finally i believe potential suiters may use us as bargaining tools with their curret clubs

I think we should pull out all the stops to get JMH.

I would be prepared to chip in a few quid to his transfer fee.

MCF, the problem isn't raising he money to pay for Hernandez, it's the fact that we do not have enough room in the salary cap to be able to sign him in the first place as the money spent to buy out his current contract would also need to be included within the existing cap.

Tigers simply don't have that much spare space to play with.

Dave,

Is there any chance that the new agreement will exempt England players from the salary cap as was talked about at one time.

To pro-rata their salary for the time they are available for their club would be a start.

Dave Angel-----if we cleared out the several players we have who are not good enough and won't be, we would have money to pay a person like Hernandez. The other problem is when has any star player wanted to come to Leicester? :smt017

Salary cap is the excuse not the reason.

whether this chap is the answer or not...We're weak behind the scrum and the "Traditional" Leicester views of Mr "C" don't appear to be advancing the cause.

BTW what happened to the irish fella?? David's brother?

I heard about a week ago that he'd be fit in a fortnight, does that mean he'll be fit in a week?

Is one Harry Ellis worth a JMH? Ben Youngs is looking good and Scotty would be good figure for him?
