Brilliant game by Hipkiss, some excellent tackles and a great break.

Danny did well. That is the only change Ashton should make. Hipkiss for Tait.

i reckon tait has a career on the wing, i mean, lets face it he's lost in the centre - a school boy at best!

now dan is the man, immediate impact and safe as a thick rubber johnny.

tait played well enough imho that he will keep his spot if fit. this is not a criticism of hipkiss - he played well too, but not quite enough to oust a fit tait.

Lewis Moody charges down a grubber kick from Jauzion and it's a fantastic break from Dan Hipkiss. His pass is helped on by Mike Catt and Mathew Tait gets to within a couple of yards of the line before he is held up. The ball is spun back inside, though, and good play from Ben Kay and Hipkiss again brings its reward as England earn the penalty after a French forward comes in on the side of the ruck.

There are about 3 comment about Tait's "hlaf-breaks" but nothing about solid defense or a "full-break"... Is Dan the loical choice, he is to everyone who sees him week in week out at Welford Road!

I thought Tait had a pretty good game.

Hipkiss did well when he came on. Keep the 22 the same for the final though. If Danny can come on and have that same impact after 50 minutes; great.

Fair play to Tait; he tackled his heart out.

I think that Tait's defensive positioning is better than Hipkiss', I still think that Danny can get caught out.

On the other hand, Hipkiss brings a lot more physicality to the party; his work at the breakdown is also top drawer.

Which probably means that I agree with Bill.

I'm not disagreeing with Bill or Waffle, I think Danny is a cracking player (who does admittedly sometimes get caught out defensively, but does bring a lot of stand-up physicality to the game), BUT this ragtag bunch of no-hopers and charlatans we like to call an England Team are on a major, MAJOR roll and I personally wouldn't tinker with it one bit unless I had to.

It has massive problems and faults, but for some reason they just aren't showing through. Like an old car that is just held together by rust, leave it be and it will get you to Scotland and back. Try changing the air freshener and the engine will fall out and the roof blow off.

Barring injury, the XV to stay the same, and the bench to stay the same.

I hear you westy and agree.

Against SA though I would start with Hipkiss.
