GP 2007/8 DARK HORSES

Post by cooke-1 »

Any thoughts on the dark horses for next season (obviously we will win but anyway!).

My guess is that with the wealth of new signings Worcester have the potential to at least make the playoffs and take advantage of World Cup situation?

I agree, i think Worcester will be a strong outfit next season with the signings they have made to impliment their squad. I also think that Quins will continue to grow under the mighty Deano... Not sure how Leeds will get on just yet.

I can't wait! - I never thought i'd be wishing the Summer away like this!

don't forget Wuss won't get all their big names back till after the World Cup. Before that it's nearly the same squad as last year, which is worrying for them. I'm positive they'll stay up next year but I can can also see them struggling at the beginning of the year.

I think that if Newcastle got a decent pack they would do so much better. Again, they won't get Hayman till after the WC so we shall see.

NEwcastle will lose too many backs in the RWC period...

Hummm...Leeds won't lose anyone and BRis have shown what a well organised team can do, so I'd look for Bris, Leeds and Wuss.

Do Brizzle count as dark horses? They made their intentions and ability clear last season. Whatever, certainly one to keep a watch on. Be a suprise if they didn't do well.

The Quins for me. Deano working quietly and effectively there. Bags of surprise potential in that outfit.

I can't see Worcester doing much next season, it will take a while for Ruddock's way to filter through. Everyone down here in Gloucester are confident that they will go one better and win the GP next season....with The Volcano they think they've got their "Tuilagi" in place ! I've tried to reason with them and say that League to Union sometimes takes a couple of seasons but they won't listen !!

If Gloucester do get Lesley firing on all cylinders then they will be difficult to beat (assuming their other players continue the form of last season).

Quins should have a good season and I think Wuss will not be in such a scrap.

Sale need to regroup after an injury ravaged season but should be back near the top.

Really, though, it's difficult to look past Tigers and Wasps in the prem (moreso Tigers, obviously!!)

Worcester are set to become the new Saracens. Which makes Saracens able to concentrate on winning matches with out the pressure of having to underachieve. Quins will be up there for sure and Gloucester will be the team to beat other than us.
