Is there an Elvis song that can be adapted to Tigers?

Post by simon redshaw »

Sounds weird but I just wondered whether an Elvis or failing that another song could be adapted to reflect Tigers success and our love for them.

Only one I can think of is "Wonder of You" but not sure how to adapt it!!

I pinpoint Elvis here as I am a big fan of his songs.

I think people should give up trying to find a Tigers song, to be quite honest. How are you going to get 16,000 odd Tigers fans to start singing something they may not have even heard before?

We just have to accept that we're stuck with our usual chants and Waltzing Matilda for the special occasions for Pat.

Oh, bless my soul Castrogiovanni
You try and tackle him it's like tackling a tree
You take him on and you will soon find
Oh no.......you're all shook up
(ah ha ha, ha, hey hey !)

(To the tune of All Shook Up)

Back when I was at school in Swindon (I am an immigrant to Leicester), I used to Watch Swindon Town.
They used to sing 2 verses of "I can't help falling in Love with you"

Wise men say,
Only fools rush in,
But I can't help,
falling in love with you.

Take my Hand,
Take my whole life too,
But I can't help,
falling in love with you.

Tigers, Tigers

I would also suggest, "The wonder of you"

When no one else can understand me
When everything I do is wrong,
You given me hope and consilation
You give me strength to carry on
And you're always there
To lend a hand
In everything I do
That's the wonder,
The wonder of you.

Tigers, Tigers

Never mind Elvis - how about something a bit more contemporary, and with much easier lyrics!!??!!

Was listening to the Kaiser Chiefs "Ruby" in the car this morning and thought you could easily sing/chant/shout "Goodey! Goodey! Goodey! Goodey!" over the chorus.

If you're not a big Andy Goode fan try "Moody! Moody! Moody! Moody!"

(If you don't like either of those players, I'm struggling to think of another one that rhymes...)

Get this played over the PA before the match and lets all sing-a-long-a-Tigers :oD

I dont know what the tune is but there is a quickie we could use which might motivate every player to score so they will hear their name.
This is a crib from a chorus that followed each verse of 4 & 20 Virgins came Down from Inverness!
No doubt someone will know what tune it is to.

That was a beautiful try,
lets have another one,
just like the other one,
Let's have another one TOM (or Coz or George or Alex etc..)
May you be in heaven half an hour before the Devil knows you're dead!

at the base of the scrum
ellis digs the ball out
Because he loves it so much baby

Why can't you see
We'll beat wasps 50-3
you'll all believe the words we say

We'll all go on together
kicking wasps behinds
And we can build our dreams
kickin glaws behinds

So, if an old dayglo
Drops by to say hello
Would he still see suspicion in our tries?

Here we go again
Asking where goode's been
You can see our support is real
I'm cheering..

Wasps can't go on together
cause they finished fifth (cause they finished fifth)
And we can build our dreams
kickin glaws behinds
Forgot the resty - vesty is the besty!
