Saints

Post by x_tigersgal_x »

They actually managed a win this afternoon against London Irish but Im not sure whether that is a good thing or not? Sarries got a bit of a thrashing by worcester also. Your views?

Worcester actually won, which means Saints are relegated! Gutted for them, I always enjoyed the local derby games. Hope to see them come straight back up and renew old rivalries as soon as possible!

yeah read the wrong score off oops.Think its because I wanted Sarries to win.
unlucky for saints though. but lucky worcester as it would have been them otherwise.

So disappointed for Saints although I really didn’t want Wuss to get relegated.

Saints seem to be the only team who know how to win at Welford Road so it is good they are out of the league and we can get the 100% record next seson

this shows how brutal this league is. The Saints reached HC semis and got relegated in the domestic league.
I watched the Worcester match and I couldnt decide if it was Woorcester playing brilliantly or Sarries didnt show up.

I too will miss the local derbys but in all honesty I do think that the drop will do them the world of good. The infrastructure of the Saints is second to none in the Prem so it will be up to the players and coaches to get it right. It will be interesting to see who jumps ship and the excuses that will come to light. Their win at Welford was dogged and the way the Tigers played they knew how to grind out a win, but that is all they have done for the past few years not getting any better and buying in players that do not meet the standard. I hope it is a lesson learnt and that they will be back in the Prem soon. I do not think they will find it as easy as Quins did, Leeds lost 5 game this season and teams like the Knights Exeter and Pirates are building.

Funny....I remember Keith Barwell saying in an interview at the beginning of the season that Saints would achieve much this season on their way to becoming the team to beat in the East Midlands and Tigers wouls struggle as we invested in our new stadium and not the team.....

How wrong he was.......

Goodbye Saints......

Do I recall Carlos Spencer saying that he harboured a long term ambition to play at places like Sedgley Park, Nottingham and Otley in front of crowds of 500?

Seriously, I predict a 100% season and them coming straight back, they may even win the A League because they can field their strongest team in that because the matches will more challenging in some weeks (I seem to recall Quins did the same last year).

Wuss played very well, totally smashed Sarries up front. Gillies was (again) outstanding; interesting to see Blaze get a good run out before he comes over to us. Looked the part, without quite being in Gillies class.

I was pleased for Pat Sanderson, who has led them brilliantly these last few weeks.
