he went to new zealand to get away from rugby?
one too many bangs on the head, methinks
he was in the local northampton paper a few months back, as he'd got involved with a property development company over this way too. fingers in a few pies, it seems.
have to admit he is the english player I most admire. I liked deano and winterbottom , guscott, carling was also very good, wilkinson is a professional machine but simply lost the balance a little and endangered his body too much (Its a game not a war) and duckham was magic who Ive heard speak (very funny)
as WJM mercy me the more he whispered the more powerful it got, Jim telfer was similar too, "THIS IS YOUR EVEREST BOYS ETC." wow
They showed a (very) brief clip of him suited up and training for the Leicester Panthers on Sky this weekend. Don't forget to go along later this month in support of Matt Hampson. :oD
i work in a hotel nr where jonno lives.he comes in for the matt hampson do's and they all raised a load of cash.whatever he is doing now he is respected greatly and is a legend in many peoples eyes.wheter he decides to return to the coaching side or not he deserves all the credit that he gets.awsome inspiration to many!!!! :o)
Well i definitely saw him at the match at Walkers, sat just across from me in the corporate box.
You could tell that the passion never dies, he was as animated as ever, was great to see, i spent the match more watching him and his reaction to the game than the actual match, made my day!
He was playing football instead of watching it on Sunday - for the Leicester All-Stars XI (Austin Healey and Mike Umaga also turned out for them) against a City Legends XI in a charity match at the Walkers.
He made quite an impression too - coming on as a sub ten minutes from the end he scored both the All-Stars goals in a 6-2 defeat. Both close range headers apparently!
