I would have thought it was quite obvious what the delay is:~
The “Independent Citing Officer” AKA Stuart Barnes wants to announce the decision on tonight’s Rugby Club and of course explain why he came to his decision.
Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.
Walk beside me and be my friend.
I would not be surprised if the ban was reduced by a week meaning that he will be available for Bristol.
His offence was committed in a Heineken Cup game and because Tigers did not suspend him straight away, but played him against Sale, I think that he will be made to miss this Saturdays game.
I hope that I am wrong and that his suspension is reduced to end on Friday, making him available.
The length of time this is taking suggests they must be thinking of reducing it...and probably that Tigers put a fairly strong case forward. I think it will get reduced but I would be suprised if he is able to play on Saturday.
I would have thought it just shows that they haven't released the info yet - not that they are still thinking about it. I would also argue that even if they are still thinking about it - then that shows no difference in terms of what the result may be. As there are 3 people on the committee it would mean that 2 are decided and oppose each other, and the 3rd is yet to be convinced either way - meaning it is ultimately 50-50 still.
