Shane has been an exellent player for us, and I'm really disappointed to see him go. He always had total commitment going into rucks and mauls and I'm sure the club will miss him alot. I totally understand his reasoning though, and I wish him all the best in the future with Leinster and Ireland.

Thanks again Shane.

Cheers Shane, you are a true Tiger. Understand your reasons, and you leave with the respect and good wishes of all Tigers fans. Will have to support Leinster in Magners now, but don't play to well against England (in the future)!!.

p.s. unless you have changed considerably in the past few years thought BBC could at least post the correct picture!

I too wish him all the best but am baffled as to why he is going now. It is too late to stake a claim for the World Cup squad if he needs to be playing provincial rugby back home before then. Unless he is looking post-World Cup when there may be vacancies in the back row....

I agree with Westwinds - Shane hasn't gone yet!! I'm sure he will continue to give his all and put himself about for Tigers at every opportunity until the season is over and he does depart. Let's appreciate him while he's still here!

Read an interview today where Shane said he would never have gone to another English club. It just seems that he wants to go back home. I got the impression that trying to break into the Irish team was just an added incentive.
