Long distance journeys to Welford Road?

Post by Tigersfan90 »

Looking at locations of the posters on here and wondered wheres the furthest place people come from to attend matches at Welford Road regularly or with season tickets?

Interesting question TF90. We just come in from Newark but always use the train so we can have a 'pop' or two at the match - hour twenty to thirty travel time.
I used to be indecisive now I just can't make up my mind

At least we don't often get disappointed with losses at Welford Road so you get good journeys home. :D

Not sure if this counts, but I saw a guy wearing a tigers shirt in Sea World Florida on December 22nd (it was 80F and I was in vest and shorts)!

We come from near Sevenoaks in Kent, me, Mrs Ightham Tiger and Baby Ightham Tiger, and it takes 2.5 - 3 hours by car. 140 miles each way. Thoroughly worth it!!

Worthing West Sussex...any further south and you get wet feet.

340 miles round trip.

I do believe that there is a couple who travel from Scotland.

Lea...that is dedication !! I used to travel from Lincoln..about 1.5 hours. Now I live near Gloucester and its about the same again. It's a hell of a trek though, I set off normally about midday to get there for 1.30pm-ish and get to the ground by 2pm. After a game I'm home for about 6.30pm.

I too am in sussex, but east sussex! Think its 159 miles to leicester so 300 miles round trip? Usually take 3ish hours but depending on traffic!

Some impressive distances there. Well done to you all. Personally I travel 3 miles which takes about 10 minutes. We have a bad day if City are playing at home on the same day as the traffic is awful (extending travel time to something like 20 minutes) so the distances/times others travel is an excellent measure of peoples commitment. It is also a measure of the performances the team put in week in week out that keeps you coming.
Well done everyone. Welford Road wouldn't be the same without you.
