Year book waste of money

Post by krwa »

Having picked up my copy of the year book what a waste of money. All the information in it is in the program every week so why publish this awful book. I would sooner have £20 off the price of my season ticket.

Because 11 x £3 (the cost of a program for each home Prem game) = £33.

The year book is hard back. It won't get damaged like programs do.

And it's an extra. You don't pay for it, you pay for the matches you attend. A season ticket costs less than a ticket for every home game anyway!

If it's so pointless and you already have all the information in it in the programme (which I doubt) why not simply give it away to a non-member or ST holder, who would probably be glad of it?

a lot of people use the yearbook to get autographs of the current squad and there is more room inside the yearbook for that than a programme. so the yearbook does have a use even if not just ready it once you get home. and also some other clubs don't even give free yearbooks to their supporters.

i think the year books create a good archieve of games and results over the past 5 seasons we've been getting them, its also amazing to look back at how the words "final" and "semi-final" can change a game so much.

I have a friend with three small boys who wanted to have a spare yearbook :) We get three in our household, so we gave them one of our spares. They were overjoyed. Surely if people don't want theirs, they could find someone who does?

well, I think the yearbooks are fantastic and a really good record of the club's fortunes to keep and refer to. and I think they demonstrate how the club values us, the supporters. not many clubs do as much as Tigers.

These are excellent books, if you don't want them why not donate yours to the MHTF

There is a clue as to the point of the Year Book in its title I think... I shouldn't think that every single season ticket holder gets a programme every game - I know my dad doesn't - so it is a nice review of the year to look back on.

If there are really that many people that don't want them then have a little ponder about what other 'season' we are in at the moment and donate them to the Matt Hampson Trust or one of the thousands of non-season ticket holders who don't have one.

We are a community club that looks after its supporters... but judging by the comments here it seems you're damned if you do and damned if you don't!
