Sam VARDY???

Post by Rizzo »

Did anyone else hear the East Midlands Today news round up tonight? Apparently our win was credited to a drop goal by Sam VARDY - doesn't it annoy you when they can't get even the smallest facts correct?

Typical commentators/journalists. Even during todays commentry sky started calling Goode "Good" which got really annoying. Not the fact that he isn't good b4 anyone says just missing off the e in his name!

The Pacific Island languages don't have certain letters, but they are pronounced in the names - i.e. Tuilagi pronounced Tui-Langi - Rabeni pronounced Rambeni/Ranbeni - I also corrected myself from saying Seru with the emphasis on the first syllable when at the Pat Howard/Cockers members evening - as apparently it's pronounced Ser-UH with the emphasis on the second syllable. Oh, and it's AyerTza pronounced with a T sound before the Z I believe.

i always find the pronunciations of donncha o callaghan very amusing. people are getting the hang of it now, but when he first started playing, it was hilarious!

Today's metro has also reported the match using the name Sam Vardy. We could be really naughty and e-mail [email protected] to make sure they don't do it again!

It's everywhere. You know how these news agencies sell their story to a million other papers. Sam Vardy is now huge worldwide. Doesn't cost Tigers a thing either according to the payroll. What a guy!

I wonder if he's related to the car sales company people? Poor Sam - it's funny in a way, but it is sloppy bad reporting - sadly that happens all too often these days!

I've emailed East Midlands Today and the Metro. Not that I expect a response.

Having just read today's Metro (free paper), they referred to him as Vardy in there as well.

I agree the Beeb are :censored: at rugby, they keep getting varndell and Lloyd mixed up, but its not just the Tigers, they screw up big time during the 6 nations also.

Plus the only technical thing they know about is an overlap.
