Referee for Sunday
I see Nigel Owens is the man with the whistle for Sunday. Joy.

So the Tigers could have trouble then?
From the Guardian:
Shaun Edwards needed only three words to describe his side's difficulties with the way the referee, Nigel Owens, dealt with the breakdowns on Saturday compared with what Wasps are used to in the Premiership: "Two different games".
Their director of rugby, Ian McGeechan, was more expansive but no less annoyed. "If you can't control the tackle area, it's a very difficult game," he said. "There was no real flow during the second half. I should have told the players to play off their feet and challenge the referee in the same way. I was too slow."

I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure this guy was the ref for the dragons v saints 2 weeks ago (watched on sc4 -sky 135 seem to have some heineken high lights as well, mute button reqd) & was very biased towards his country men, he also obviously loves to be noticed as is always blowing whistle, very poor ref IMHO. Doesnt look good for our boys with our penalty record!
Keep standing areas in the new stadium!!

Got to admit that the officials did not really work as a good team.
There were incidents happening once the ball had been played and moved up field that were not seen by the officials. Passions were high and it started to boil over at points and the officials were watching the play and took there eyes off the inci

Sorry to disagree dailywaffle but Owen was awful today. Our lack of discipline was bad, but his refusal to referee both teams with the same rules was worse. For one of their penalties, Hayes was led on the wrong side and wasn't moving but wasnt penalised, there was crossing just before the drop goal, offside for their first try etc etc etc
We may not have won with a better referee, but given the stature of the game, surely a better referee was needed. World class teams deserve a world class ref.
