Boring, Boring Munster

Post by breako »

An intersting chant was chanted at the recent Leinster V Munster derby match: 'Boring, Boring Munster.
The reason apparently was because Munster play a 10 man game and it's boring to watch.
I wonder why way they will play when they come to play us next week.

I would hope that Tigers fans are more classy and less juvenile than to descend to that kind of chant. It's like the worst elements of roundyball.

Munster should not be underestimated, no matter what their recent results.

I think that Munster will try to play very narrow aginst us and try to nick a win off the boot of O'Gara. I hope they dont because it will be quite a boring match but even if they do i believe we have a better pack to deal with it!

Tigers to win by 15 points!!!

I'm afraid previous form will count for little.

Regardless of whether the game is pretty or ugly, Munster will DEFINITELY raise their game and be handful for the whole 80 minutes.

I think it will be a very tight game, with neither team wanting to throw caution to the wind at this early stage of the tournament. But boring? I'm sure it won't be even if it ends at 0-0 or 3-0 this will be a really interesting game to watch. Can't wait for Sunday, especially since my selfless mother and father have given up their tickets for me and my brother!

Well as you say it was against Leinster! who would want to get involved
in an open game with their backs? Munster, like Leicester play to
their strengths and if this is labelled boring then so be it!. Teams that
play pretty rugby seldom win trophys ey Leinster? etc etc.. Just look at
England in the World cup, play to your strengths! chants like this are born
of frustration.

Even if both teams play 10 man rugby this won't be boring - if nothing else because of the anticipation from both sets of fans in the build up. You're pretty lucky to have parents like yours, Munster Exile :D

After hearing some of the stuff that was shouted at Henson last season I find that statement quite funny.

It will take a monumental effort by Munster to win at Welford Road......I envisage a game of the same proportions as the Stade Francais game at WR in the Heineken...ie a classic !!

There are always exceptions to the rule, Osprey. Sadly. I've stood near one or two on occasion, even our own so-called fans addressing our own players sometimes - but they are in the minority. In the main I find most rugby fans are generally respectful and friendly.
