Team for Saturday

Post by Caerlyr Osprey »

According to the scrum v website, here's the team for the Dragons game:

Leicester: J Murphy; Tuilagi, Hipkiss, Smith, Lloyd; Burke, Bemand; Ayerza, Buckland, Castrogiovanni, Cullen, Hamilton, Moody, Jennings, Crane.
Replacements: tbc.

So Burke gets another start then.

That team looks quite exciting to me. Even with Ollie and Dan playing in the wrong positions.

Info on Sat game here:

Glad to see Jennings and Moody in the team. Wonder why Lewis at least is not with the rest of the England boys. Ireland missing a trick if they don'y pick up Shane. Did Pat put an appeal in on the basis he has not enough players left for the back row, I wonder.

The old man.......something of a follower of the development side,,,,,,when he's not in the bar, reckons Murphy can kick a bit?

Why don't they give Humphries a start? I know he had a go last season and it wasn't very successful but he's been kicking and playing really well for the development team and hopefully another year on would cope better with the step up.

Very true! Johnny Murphy has a good boot on him. When he very first came to Tigers he was taking the penalties etc in the Development games 8)

If the team line up for Saturday is the one posted on here.............................who's the captain?

I like the look of the pack, but a missed opportunity at FH. Humphreys to start with Burke as veteran back-up is a 'no brainer', at least to me. I can't understand why we are not giving Humphreys a start in a relatively 'safe' environment (WR, good pack, non-GP/HC).

IC remains a problem, doesn't it ? Unless Pat thinks that Ollie is the future there ?

Can't believe they're not starting Humphries for this one

Considering the poor performances so far by our other 10s, I really don't see what the man has to do to get a start in the 1st team

There were 15 willing contenders for any position who play on Mondays. Perhaps last weeks number 21 may be busy though.

Lozza, the Mercury seemed to indicate that Leo Cullen was designated to be Captain in the absence of Martin Corry.

Of course, it may not be the correct team line up anyway, scrum V have been known to make mistakes

Thanks for the info Rizzo.
It'll be great if Leo is captain - he did the job once last season and was okay.
