you always have the choice to ignore and not to open those threads, Bob.

I,m with you Bob, I can't see the point of them. If the subject is is interest it will automatically stay at the top. In other words let the forum members decide what appears first not the moderator!

well unfortunantly the way a forum works popular things won't stay at the top, as we have a couple of thousand members and some won't post on all threads so the good threads won't be at the top all the time.

often the stickys aren't to do with interest its to do with importance.

If they are annoying you forget they're there, and just see the top thread being the one below the last sticky as that is really that first thread, common sense really.

And finally the moderators do this as and when they feel its needed if you don't like it fine, but don't make a song and dance about it because most people don't have a problem, its not going to change and if it bothered you that much you would leave, which anyone who is upset can do by all means, no-one will notice you've gone if all you've got to say is rubbish.

Sorry for voicing an opinion, I did not realise that you felt so strongly about stickys. Anyway, I respect your views and good luck but have the common courtesy of allowing others to express theirs without being denegrated for it! By the way, thanks for pointing out the obvious for me!

I tend to only use stickies for a certain number of things, and try to limit their use:

A ticket for sale thread (as it happens I have been asked to close this today, that will remain a sticky for a while to let people know not to post tickets for sale. Otherwise it wouldn't stay at the top)
Relevant charity appeals
Live Match Chat during a game
Post Match Discussion (both as a quick point of reference)
Previously, I used one for our Players Who Shook the Crumbie feature, so as to keep track as to who was used and appeal for help for others.
I am also keeping a sticky up regarding how to deal with long links, as this has been a perpetual problem on the forum.

All they are there for are to keep important threads at the top. Nothing to get wound up about!

Sim, may i ask that you stop trying to act as a moderator on this forum, because you are not, so let the moderators do their job & please let people have their own say, not just what you feel is correct, Thank you
