It seems to me that Tigers are getting later and later in announcing the team. It used to be that the team for the weekend was announced on a Wednesday now it's not even been announced until the day before the match.

Is it that they don't want Glaws to know the starting line up or is it just somebody from the club being slow on the up take?

or could it just be that, as I put in the Bath thread, that alongside the definite injuries there are several carrying knocks who may need a little extra time before being confirmed - I guess there are always positive and negative ways of looking at everything - I think we all know which way g would look :!:

And which way would that be Bunchy?

I'm merely making a point that Tigers seem to be leaving it late to announce the team on the forum. It used to be the middle of the week even when there were injury concerns that the team was announced. Now it's a day before the game and we still do not know who's playing. Why should you think I'm making a negative comment? I am asking and wondering why Tigers are leaving the selection this late.

THAT IS NOT A NEGATIVE COMMENT JEEESSSS.

Glaws isn't up either so obviously they're trying to hide the teams from each other :P
Although Glaws' is never up until the day before.
I do see the point about niggling injuries. Often coaches need to see a final training session to decide whether to play someone or not.

I'll match that with Glaws' team.

Its a shame Gibbo has had to miss out with only being able to field one overseas player on the field at one time :(

I am sure this is a balance thing - speaking to Gibbo after the match last week he sid he was feeling his calfs a lot in both the Sale and Bath game and was limping - he put it down to getting back to match fitness. Probably Pat thinks it is a lesser risk using the front row option ahead of risking Gibbo when not 100%.
We had dreadful luck last week with injuries !!!!
That is the positive spin anyway to g for the other view !!

Sorry if I am being a little slow on the uptake but aren't we still fielding 2 overseas players with Seru also?

Samoan and Fijian players are covered by the Kolpak (?) ruling, And are not classed as overseas players.

It says that pacific islanders are exempt... But I was thinking the same with Geordie, Leo and Marcos Ayerza. Or does Ireland count as the UK? (No offence to any Irish people, but some people I've met actually think that!! )

Thanks guys, much appreciated - what's Kolpak? Just googled - apparently relates to a citizen or country with an associate agreement with theEU....

Wasn't he a detective in the 70's ?

Seriously, I'm not entirely sure. Sorry.

EDIT: I know it is cross threading, but, if you look on the 'Gibson and Ayerza have no work permits' thread Adamv6 explains it.
