The Best Team to Play Gloucester

Post by simon redshaw »

Well, many of us have held our own inquest into last Saturday's failure and know its time to see the team start to put things right.

Looking at Saturday's game against Gloucester on an isolated basis, what do you think is the ideal Tigers team for that game?

Given the injuries we have and availability I would chose the following:

1) Martin Castrogiovanni
2) James Buckland (Cabbage)
3) Julian White
4) Leo Cullen, if available. If not, Luke Abraham
5) James Hamilton
6) Louis Deacon
7) Shane Jennings
8) Martin Corry
9) Scott Bemand
10) Paul Burke
11) Tom Varndell
12) Daryl Gibson
13) Matt Cornwell
14) Geordan Murphy, if available. If not, Seru Rabeni
15) Sam Vesty

Replacements

George Chuter
Mike Holford
Tom Croft
Jordan Crane
Frank Murphy
Matt Smith
Andy Goode

I am going to please those advocating for Paul Burke as I think he needs more game time and I'll give Andy a rest this week. Plus there are those that feel Paul can do a better job!!

George would be on the replacaments as Cabbage can throw the ball better and straighter and I think is playing the better out of the two at the moment.

I, like many would like to see Leo back playing for us and he could make a difference in the forwards.

I also want to have another look at Jordan Crane at least from the replacements. I also think Matt Smith is playing better then Dan at the moment.

The rest of the team picks itself at the moment.

Morning Simon,

15 Vesty
14 Seru
13 G Murphy
12 Cornwell
11 Gibson
10 Goode
9 Bemand

8 Corry
7 Jennings (if fit)
6 Moody (ditto)
5 Big Jim
4 L Deacon
3 White
2 Chuter
1 Castro

Bench

16. Holford, 17 Cabbage, 18 Cullen, 19 Abrahams, 20 Ellis/Murphy, 21 Smith 22 Varndell

Not very adventurous I know, and not many changes from last week but remember, most of these boys did a job against Sale.

Morning Former Prop,

Your team is good and I guess Andy deserves to start again but I thought that giving Paul Burke some game time might add somethig different.

O.k., If Lewis was available, which I was thinking he wasn't, then I would play him. Although, I would probably have to leave Louis out altogether then.

And if Harry is available, he would be a replacement instead of Frank Murphy.

This is never an easy exercise!!!

Ive just realised a made a right pigs ear of the backs positions (gibbo on wing etc) D'oh

I to would like to see Burke play, but I don't think this is the game.

Its also a tough choice between Chuter and Cabbage.

I like George and he is a good player but for some reason he seems to have problems with the lineouts and that cost us quite badly against Bath.

Maybe your right about Burke. In that case, he could be a replacement instead of Matt Smith.

Does the absence of Crane and Cullen from both the First and A squads mean that both are injured?

The only trouble with your team is that Ben Kay won't be available and I am not sure that Leon Lloyd is either.

Don't you want to sing Happy Birthday to Tom?!! Or is he playing that badly he shouldn't even be in the 22!!
