Tigers 35-23 Sale: Your view!

Post by Iain »

Whats not to like about beating the reigning champions with a bonus point in the first game of the season?
For me the pack looked awesome, the penalty try was certainly one for the forwards! Top performers on the day I think:
Corry, who was at his rampaging best,
Castrogiovanni who is already looking a good signing
Moreno, showing us what we had been missing
Bemand, some great work from the base of the scrum

Very few negatives but I do think Goode is a better player than what we saw today. Looked a little flat at timesand not always striking the ball as well as he might but probably just nit-picking.

Iain, i think Rabeni deserves a mention, he had some excellent offloads and attacked well with every chance. I also think Murphy had an outstanding game, and fully deserved his try, and maybe the second!!!!

We should congratulate the whole team on a good performance, against the current champions. I think we out muscled them across the pitch, and showed a massive improvement since the Final last year.

Let's hope that we can repeat this performance at home and away matches.

It was also good to see that we have strength and depth in the squad, highlighted when we were forced into substitutions.

Well Done and more of the same ,Please.

Great performance.

I think the backs looked assertive and positive. The Forwards were just on top the entire game. I as watching from my armchair and the entire team did really well.

I just want to ask all those who slated Rabeni after the 7's to make a public apology as he really showed what he can do today. Step and pass well and the subtle little offloads were sublime.

Fantastic performance. Good to see Rabeni come on. Exciting player and really made a difference. Thought subs worked well changing nature of the game. Nail-biting to the end. Lets not forget we narrowly missed one Murphy try and I think Goode missed four kicks. The margin could have been a lot greater.
Bit worried about some handling errors, for me these harked back to the frustations of last season.
Overall :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thought everyone played well today but Cozza and Geordan were outstanding as were the front row. Thought Henry did well when he came on and how's Crofty? What a start to the season. Trying to now convince the wife we should go to Bath next week.... Come on the Tigers!!

How good was the long range pushover try? Was like vintage Leicester forward play!

A further player who deserves a mention in despatches from a team that looked a good formidable unit. Particularly after the talk last season which was dogged with injury that he was leaving at the end of the season.
GIBBO, great defensive work, straight in at the break down and some important tackles at crucial times. We definitely missed him last season and great to see him back on form! :D

An excellent game for Tigers, they did not allow Sale to play unlike at HQ.
Chabal resorted to infringements at every opportunity, Robinson was limited in his repertoire, Goode knew THAT tackle was going to hurt and the only players that seemed dangerous in a positive way for Sale were Hodgson, contract up soon, and White. Tigers made the rest look very ordinary, and the majority of their points came from first half penalties. As for their second half try!
From a very worried walk to the ground, to a very elated and hopeful walk back to the car.
Well done boys.

That was good.
Thought Tigers played well today especially Cozza and Murphy. Also thought Matt had a great game. :D Lets just try and cut out some of the handling errors then we will be Superb!

Hope Crofty is ok and his ankle is not too badly hurt. :(
:-) TIGERS rock especially Ollie, CRANE, Moody, Crofty, and Matt C :-)
