The World Cup winning No. 7 = "not world class". Naaah.

the way Munster fans go on about "the hand of back" is like the try was a dead cert if backy hadn't taken the ball from the happless Stringer. But peole forget the fact that Tigers had 2 dissallowed try's in that game. shoulda woulda coulda!!

Neil Back was one of the best no.7's in the history of RU, FACT!!

We never said that try was a dead cert! It was the fact that the opportunity was taken away from us - If Munster had no chance of scoring why did Back feel he had to do what he did! As Neil Back said you do what you have to do to win (regardless of whether you deserve it or not I presume :o ) It would be interesting to see what the reaction would have been if the shoe had been on the other foot .

Like all good 7's, Backy was a master at putting his hand in the cookie jar .... and not getting caught. Richie McCaw is the best in the world right now, but is everyone obsessed by his 'handiwork' at the breakdown ? No.

The 'hand of back' is history, far better to look forward than 'back', IMO.

I'd have been really peed off and wouldn't let it lie forever and would only ever remember the guy for one glorious piece of handy work.
