Not only are uncontested scrums unedyitying they are an abomination and a curse on the spririt of the game!!

Any team causing uncontested scums should, IMHO lose not 1 but 3 players - and those 3 players should be chosen by the captqain of the opposing team!!

Ah, good to see that you have mellowed since the last debate on this topic, Bill !

It is good to see some progress, methinks, however slow.

Bill - I agree, and perhaps they should also be asked to choose replacements from the stands instead of the bench !!!

Sorry i cant agree with whoever said that the captain should choose 1 or three players r whatever. if they did that there wouldn't be any point of havng uncontested scrums because it wouldnt be uncontested

Say no to uncontested scrums!!!!!!!

I hate them with a passion, and any team that forces them are cowards and charlatans!

The number of subs could be increased by one, and two have to be specialised props and one a hooker. This would hopefully nullify the un*******ed scrum. Yuk (now need to rinse my mouth out with battery acid and wash for a week for mentioning the words)

Good post Bingham Tiger! Any team forcing UCs should be forced to play wendyball for a week. Same with the ref.

Tigers just happen to have the best scrum in Britain...

Before we get too 'holier than thou' about this on the Tigers' forum, remember that England forced uncontested scrums against Australia as a result of White and Rowntree being injured ! Could just as easily happen (to us) in the GP.

I have always thought the answer (fairly) clear. The team able to field a full scrum has the option of calling a line out (their throw in) or a free kick, instead of a scrum. The scrum is ultimately just a restart, so give the option os an alternative restart that affords some advantage.
