Yep, I always liked the All Blacks - but I wish some team would just beat them to shut them up! but at the same time I have tremendous respect for them.
I did nick-name them the "Spear Blacks" for a while because it is unforgiving
what they did to Brian O'D - particularly - the dreadlocked one....
in fact , Justin Marshall was the only one who attended to him as he lay on the stretcher - so whether or not that was a psychological element to make people think he cared - when he really didn't - nobody will know.

Anyway, I do think they are number one contenders for the 2007 WC and I personally have NZ friends who will throw me through the window after reading this - I don't care......(  :D   )

Sorry Carmel and Dave and all your kiwi families and friends

The Kiwis are looking incredible. Its good to see Henry is finally dropping his two teams policy.

Incredible is a bit strong. They leaked trties.

And the spear tackle has been quite rightly cited.

Henry may have peaked them too early - sensible to drop the two teams policy - but he may just nirn the first team out.

when's the last time New Zealand won the world cup? 1987
Won tri-nations 1999, lost to france i WC semi
won tri-nations 2003, lost to australia WC semi
maybe they can only win then the pressures off on home soil.

A valid point hans, but the competition from other teams in the world, in my opinion is a lesser threat than on those occasions you mentioned. Now we dont think they will win just because they won the tri nations (although they have won it back to back times know) it's also because they can beat anyone on anyday ! there isn't a team in the world that can stand up and beat them at the moment that has to be why I would be extremely suprised if anyone beats them in the world cup !

I think France may be the only team to run the close in 2007. Home advantage may be the key.

But I have to admit they are pretty awesome at the moment.

The Kiwis have in the past had a habit of peaking in the years between World Cups and that may happen again.
